Gurshan Brar
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Gurshan brings extensive experience and expertise to the team at Sleep Well. She is motivated and charismatic and received her diploma in Respiratory Therapy from the University of Thompson Rivers with honours. Gurshan has specialized in both adult and neonatal respiratory care. She has worked in one of the largest and busiest centers in the Fraser Valley. While working as a Respiratory therapist she has created and implemented many guidelines and protocols in paediatric and neonatal care. She continues to be heavily involved in research and implementing new and up to date care for her patients. She is able to provide patients with diverse strategies when treating obstructive sleep apnea. She is a member in good standing for both BCSRT and CSRT. When she is not working she can be found in the gym, yoga studio, or nose-deep in a good book.
Kimin Brar
Registered Respiratory Therapist
Kimin is a Registered Respiratory Therapist who completed her diploma at Thompson Rivers University. She has extensive experience working with patients with sleep apnea while working at Vancouver Coastal Health & the Fraser Health Authority. Working at multiple hospitals has allowed Kimin to treat a broad range of patients. She is a part of the Canadian Society of Respiratory Therapists and BC Society of Respiratory Therapists which helps her stays up-to-date on the latest respiratory discoveries. When not striving to keep her patients happy and healthy, she enjoys training and competing in triathlons.
Dr. Susan Kwan
Medical Director
Dr. Susan Kwan is the Medical Director of Respirology at Burnaby Hospital and clinical assistant professor of medicine at the University of British Columbia. She was a Commonwealth Scholar in 1983, Burnaby hospital intensive care co-director from 1997 - 2013, and Burnaby hospital department head of Medicine from 2008 - 2013. Her extensive local and international efforts to improve the lives of the sick and less fortunate were recognized by her receiving the Queen Elizabeth Diamond Jubilee Medal in 2013. She continues to single handedly carry out medical training missions in Asia, training over 2000 medical professionals and providing medical equipment to many hospitals in need.
